Karen has a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. Her Bachelor's Degree was in creative writing.

She is a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in the state of California, and her primary influences are postmodern/Narrative Therapy and Spiritual Psychology.

Karen specializes in addressing boundary issues that result from growing up in dysfunctional families, which helps relieve depression and anxiety as well as bugaboo patterns like self-sabotage, perfectionism and the fear of intimacy.
